• Walk to End Alzheimer’s

We at the Mansion strongly support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  Alzheimer’s is a scary and debilitating condition, which effects us all, and we are committed to being, in our own small way, a part of the solution.  Last year we began a tradition of support for this important issue.

As caregivers, as family members, as members of our community, our staff and administrators join with the Alzheimer’s Association in their mission to end this horrible disease.

You can find us at the our local Pawtucket, Rhode Island walk this year Sunday, September 28, 2014.  We will have more information available on our website closer to the date.

I just have to say how thrilled I am to see the Mansion still is. My mother worked there when I was very young and Mr. Chooporian was her employer and Mrs. Griffiths and her daughter Betty-Alice prepared the food (it was homestyle and delicious). Mr. Chooporian was a very kind and generous man. He operated a wonderful facility. The Christmas parties with gifts for everyone I will always remember. We had moved to Hawes Street in 1964 my mom Lucette from France started there as a Nurses Aide around 1966, late 1965. Thank you for the fond memories. I even remember some of the residents. 🙂 🙂

    Sincerely,

    Donna

Believe me I really appreciate the act of the fund rising walk as it gives you the courage to speak on the behalf of those who are needy but at the same time are shy to ask for help. I have also participated in many such events.
